CAMPING

Amboseli picnic

Camping allows you the freedom to visit places where very few other travellers have ever been. From our campsites you can marvel at the incredible African landscape and interact with the indigenous tribes of the area. We try to avoid busy campsites, preferring wilder bush surroundings, where we can enjoy a peaceful stroll, enjoy the spectacular scenery and appreciate the scents and sounds of Africa. Lightweight bush camps enable us to reach the most rugged places. We usually move camp every day.

Camping is the only way to access real wilderness areas. To experience the real wilderness you may have to sacrifice some of your creature comforts, but with our exceptionally high levels of service, outstanding food and the professionalism of our friendly English speaking guides and drivers, you will enjoy a truly magical, once in a lifetime experience.Your driver and guide set up camp, while the cook prepares the meals. We provide all tents and mattresses, tables, chairs, kitchen equipment, toilet and shower facilities (water permitting). You will also need to bring your own sleeping bag, torch and spare batteries. Our tents are three-man igloo-type and are easy to erect. This is your job, and all part of the fun!
Of course, your driver and guide are on hand should you need assistance. Our cooks have many years experience in preparing good wholesome food over the campfire. The seasonal availability of fruit and vegetables dictates the menu, but all meals are thoughtfully prepared with variety and imagination.
Breakfast is continental style. Lunch consists of cold salads, meat or ham, and fruit. Dinner is a hot three-course meal.We only provide drinking water and cordials as soft drinks and beers are bulky to carry.
A ‘sundowner’, however, is an enjoyable end to a day in the bush, so we suggest that you bring your preferred tipple with you, as alcohol can be quite expensive or just not available.
